Mallu Magalhães - Velha e Louca

Nem vem tirar
Meu riso frouxo com algum conselho
Que hoje eu passei batom vermelho,
Eu tenho tido a alegria como dom
Em cada canto eu vejo o lado bom.

I think it’s perfectly acceptable and rather admirable to be moderately delusional.

It’s the price I guess
For the lies I’ve told
That the truth it no longer thrills me

And why can’t we laugh?
When it’s all we have
Have we put these childish things away?
Have we lost the magic that we once had?

Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe

Recited by Matthew Gray Gubler

my favorite poem recited by one of my favorite people, NICE.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

I don’t know if I’ve come of age but I’m certainly older now. I feel shrunken, as if there’s a tiny ancient Oliver Tate inside me, operating the levers of a life-size Oliver-shaped shell. A shell in which a decrepit picture show replays the same handful of images.

David Bowie - Rebel, Rebel

And I love your dress
You’re a juvenile success
Because your face is a mess
So how could they know?
I said, how could they know?

Happy birthday, David.

Men have called me mad; but the question is not yet settled, whether madness is or is not the loftiest intelligence– whether much that is glorious– whether all that is profound– does not spring from disease of thought– from moods of mind exalted at the expense of the general intellect.
